BOJONEGORO, JurnalPost.com — Starting a gold investment does not always require millions of rupiah in capital. Several Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) customers in Bojonegoro are choosing to build assets incrementally by setting aside a portion of their income for gold savings.
This method has become a preferred choice for individuals looking to prepare for long-term financial needs without having to commit large sums of money at once.
Herny, a BRI customer in Bojonegoro, shared that she became interested in gold savings because it can be tailored to her financial capacity. She does not set a large deposit amount, focusing instead on the consistency of setting money aside.
The funds used for gold savings come from the remainder of her income after daily necessities are met. Consequently, this investment activity does not interfere with the family's primary expenditures.
“I save in small amounts according to what I can afford. I don't have to wait until I have millions of rupiah. The important thing is to be consistent and have the intention to set money aside,” said Herny.
According to Herny, this habit has also changed how she manages her finances. A portion of the money that previously might have been spent on consumer goods is now diverted into gold savings.
She believes that starting an investment with small amounts is more realistic than waiting until one has a large sum of money.
A similar experience was shared by Herlianto, another BRI customer in Bojonegoro. He chooses gold savings as a step toward preparing for future financial needs.
Herlianto admitted that he does not always have large amounts of surplus funds. However, whenever there is money left over from his income, a portion is set aside to increase his gold savings balance.
“If I have extra money, I set it aside for gold savings. The amount is not large, but if done continuously, I hope it can become a reserve for future needs,” he said.
For him, investing is not just about the amount of funds one has, but how one builds the habit of managing income in a planned manner.
Gold Savings as an Alternative for Long-Term Investment
Gold is a widely recognized investment instrument. Beyond physical ownership, gold is also available through savings services that allow for incremental purchases according to the provider's terms.
Through this mechanism, the public does not have to buy large gold bars all at once. Purchases can be made periodically, adjusted to one's financial capacity.
Nevertheless, gold investment still carries risks. Gold prices can rise or fall depending on market conditions, meaning profits cannot be guaranteed.
Prospective investors should also pay attention to several aspects before using gold savings services, ranging from administrative fees and the spread between buy and sell prices to withdrawal terms and the legality of the service provider.
Understanding these mechanisms is important so that investment decisions align with one's individual goals and financial situation.
Consistency in Setting Aside Income is Key
The experiences of Herny and Herlianto demonstrate that building assets can begin with a simple habit: consistently setting aside a portion of one's income.
Both choose not to force a specific investment amount. Basic needs remain the priority, while available funds are used to increase savings gradually.
This approach can serve as an example for people who want to start investing but still have limited budgets.
With good financial planning, the habit of setting aside small amounts of money can help an individual build savings for future needs.
However, investment decisions must still take into account financial capacity, emergency fund requirements, and the risks associated with the chosen instrument.
