Bandung, JurnalPost.com – The enthusiasm for learning and the creativity of students from SDN 108 Ciumbuleuit brightened the Literacy, Numeracy, and Arts Festival organized by the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program at Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR) on Saturday (26/9/2026).
Held in the Communal Space on the 3 floor of UNPAR, the festival provided a space for students to demonstrate their academic abilities and creativity while gaining learning experiences in an atmosphere distinct from their daily classroom routines.
This festival was part of a series of community service activities conducted by the UNPAR PGSD program in collaboration with SDN 108 Ciumbuleuit over the past year. Various learning activities carried out throughout the program concluded with this festival, which integrated three main pillars: literacy, numeracy, and arts and culture.
Four main activities were held during the festival: a Numeracy Quiz, a Literacy Quiz, drawing, and storytelling. Each activity was designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their critical thinking, creativity, and courage in self-expression.
In the Numeracy Quiz, students were faced with various problems requiring calculation skills, precision, and logical reasoning. The competitive atmosphere initially made some participants nervous, but that feeling gradually turned into enthusiasm once the competition began.
“At first, I was a bit scared because I was afraid of answering incorrectly. But once it started, it turned out to be fun,” said Rafka, one of the participants.
The Literacy Quiz also provided a unique experience for the students. Through the various questions posed, participants were encouraged to recall previously learned material while practicing the confidence to deliver their answers.
“I enjoyed participating in the literacy competition because I could try answering different types of questions. Some were easy, while others required me to think first. It felt great when I could answer correctly,” said Alya.
Beyond academic skills, the festival also provided space for students to develop their creativity through drawing and storytelling activities.

In the storytelling activity, students were not only required to understand the content of the story but also to learn how to convey it to an audience through expression, vocal intonation, and the courage to perform in front of others. This activity gave participants the experience to develop communication skills and imagination.
Meanwhile, the drawing activity served as a medium for students to pour out their ideas and creativity through visual works. Through this activity, each student could show how they perceive and translate an idea into a drawing.
The festival series demonstrated that the learning process does not always have to take place within the classroom. Competitions and creative activities can serve as a means for students to hone their skills while building self-confidence.
The Literacy, Numeracy, and Arts Festival also marked the conclusion of the year-long collaboration between UNPAR PGSD and SDN 108 Ciumbuleuit. Through the various activities implemented, students gained the opportunity to learn, practice, and showcase the skills they have developed.
This activity is expected to provide a fun learning experience for students while strengthening their literacy, numeracy, creativity, and confidence in expressing themselves.
