BOJONEGORO, JurnalPost.com – Digital payments are increasingly becoming a part of people's daily shopping activities. Beyond just buying food or paying at shopping centers, QRIS transactions are now widely used to purchase baby essentials, ranging from diapers and formula to wipes and various other supplies.
A number of shops and stalls in Bojonegoro have begun providing QRIS as an alternative payment method for customers. The presence of this service offers an option for people who do not carry cash while shopping.
Windi Oktavia, a BRI customer, admits to frequently using QRIS when buying items for her child. According to her, digital payments make transactions simpler because there is no need to prepare cash or look for small change to match the price of the goods.
“Buying diapers or formula is more practical now. There is no need to carry a lot of cash; just open the application and scan the QRIS,” said Windi.
She feels this convenience is even more pronounced when shopping while accompanied by her child. The payment process can be completed for the exact transaction amount without having to wait for the cashier to prepare change.
“Sometimes when I have my child with me, I want to be quick. With QRIS, payment is just a scan and it's done,” she said.
Shops Begin Providing Digital Payment Options
This shift in consumer habits is also being felt by business owners. Nano Hermawan, a baby supply store owner, said that customers using non-cash payments are becoming increasingly common.
Because of this, his store provides QRIS as an alternative payment method alongside cash.
“Many customers are now accustomed to using digital payments. When buying formula, diapers, or other necessities, they can pay directly via QRIS,” explained Nano.
According to him, the presence of QRIS provides flexibility for consumers in choosing how to pay. Customers who do not carry cash can still complete transactions through payment applications or banking services that support QRIS.
From the business owner's perspective, digital transactions also help ensure payments are made for the exact shopping amount.
“If a customer doesn't have cash, they can still shop as long as their balance or account is sufficient. It is also easier for us to receive payments for the exact transaction amount,” he added.
Digital Payments Enter Daily Transactions
The use of QRIS for purchasing baby essentials shows that non-cash transactions are increasingly entering daily household activities.
Items that were previously commonly paid for with cash, such as formula, diapers, wipes, and baby gear, can now be purchased through digital payments as long as the store provides QRIS facilities.
For consumers, this payment option provides convenience, especially when they are not carrying cash. Meanwhile, for business owners, the availability of both cash and digital payments allows them to serve the increasingly diverse transaction habits of their customers.
This development also highlights a change in the public's transaction patterns. Digital payments are no longer used only for large-value transactions or shopping at modern outlets, but are starting to become a choice for fulfilling routine family needs at the local shop and stall level.
