CIAMIS, JurnalPost.com - Youth is no barrier to achieving greatness. This has been proven by Firsya Rahma Mardiana, a student at SMA Negeri 3 Ciamis, West Java, who successfully brought home three medals from various national-level olympiads throughout 2026.
At just 16 years old, Firsya has managed to collect gold, silver, and bronze medals. Remarkably, all three awards were earned in less than a year.
This achievement certainly did not come easily. Behind her success lies a long journey, failures in several competitions, and a spirit of learning that she has consistently maintained.
Getting to Know Firsya, the Cheerful Student with a Wealth of Achievements
Born on August 19, 2010, Firsya is currently in the eleventh grade at SMAN 3 Ciamis.
At school, Firsya is known as an extroverted, cheerful, and courageous individual. She is easy to get along with and maintains good relationships with both her teachers and peers.
Beyond academics, Firsya is also trusted as one of the Talent Pancawaluya of SMAN 3 Ciamis, representing positive character values within the school environment.
According to school officials, Firsya has maintained an excellent disciplinary record throughout her education.
Amidst her school activities, the teenager still finds time to attend additional tutoring to sharpen her academic skills.
From Bronze Medal to Gold Victory
Firsya's journey of achievement throughout 2026 began on January 7. While still in the tenth grade, she won a bronze medal in the high school Biology category at the National Smart Youth Olympiad (NSYO).
Not stopping there, Firsya demonstrated her abilities once again on February 22, 2026.
This time, she brought home a silver medal in the Indonesian Student Academic Olympiad (ISAO) competition for the high school Biology category.
Her next achievement came on October 4, 2026. Firsya successfully won a gold medal with an A+ rating in the 2026 National Youth Pledge Olympiad (ONSP) held in Banjarnegara.
This gold medal is her latest achievement, completing her collection of three national medals this year.

Facing Failure, Firsya Never Gave Up
Behind the three medals she has collected, Firsya has also experienced several competitions without bringing home a title.
Previously, she participated in a regency-level Economics competition, the Biosphere Biology Olympiad at Padjadjaran University (Unpad), and the National Sharia Economics Quiz Competition organized by Bank Indonesia.
Although she did not win those competitions, the experience became an important part of her academic journey.
From various competitions, Firsya had the opportunity to hone her skills, evaluate her weaknesses, and build the mental fortitude to face future challenges.
Her hard work is also supported by her family. Her father, Redy Mardiana, provides guidance and the facilities Firsya needs to study and participate in various competitions.
Principal Expresses Pride
Firsya's string of achievements has received appreciation from SMAN 3 Ciamis.
The Acting Principal of SMAN 3 Ciamis, Irfa Rajak, S.Pd., expressed gratitude for his student's success in winning the gold medal with an A+ rating.
"Alhamdulillah, Firsya successfully won the 2026 ONSP gold medal with an A+ rating. We hope this achievement motivates other students to keep learning and to be brave enough to participate in competitions," said Irfa Rajak.
The school hopes that Firsya's success will encourage other students to be more confident in participating in various competitions, both academic and non-academic.
For Firsya herself, these three medals serve as valuable preparation for her future education.
This track record of achievement is also expected to support her preparations for her dream university, although the selection process will still follow the applicable requirements and regulations.
From bronze to silver, and finally to gold, Firsya's journey shows that great achievements can start with the courage to try and the willingness to keep learning.
