JurnalPost.com How can we improve student literacy when the Education Report results show a decline compared to the previous year? This question prompted me to re-evaluate my teaching process while seeking an approach that is more engaging, interactive, and aligned with student needs.
For me, the figures in the Education Report are not just assessment results or school performance indicators. Behind those numbers are students who need guidance, learning processes that require improvement, and opportunities for teachers to provide more meaningful learning experiences.
From this reflection, a learning innovation was born called ONE CLICK, an acronym for Integrated Access Facility for Interactive and Creative Literacy Advancement Efforts.
This innovation combines the use of artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI) with a class website as a digital learning space that provides various learning media in one place.
The core idea stems from a simple question: how can technology, which is increasingly integrated into children's lives, be utilized to foster habits of reading, understanding information, exploring knowledge, and learning more independently?
Leveraging AI to Develop Learning Media
One of the challenges teachers face is providing teaching materials that are engaging and suitable for students with diverse abilities. Learning cannot rely solely on oral explanations or textbooks. Students also need learning experiences that allow them to interact directly with the material.
However, developing media such as instructional videos, interactive quizzes, educational games, simulations, and digital Student Worksheets (LKPD) certainly requires time, skills, and creativity.
On the other hand, teachers have various responsibilities, ranging from preparing lesson plans, conducting assessments, and evaluating learning outcomes to supporting student development.
In these conditions, AI can be utilized as a tool to accelerate the development process of learning media.
Through this technology, teachers can gain inspiration, design activity plans, develop a variety of questions, and create more diverse learning materials.
Nevertheless, the use of AI does not mean replacing the teacher's role. All generated materials must still be reviewed and adjusted to meet learning objectives, student characteristics, and the accuracy of the information provided.
The teacher remains the one who determines the direction of learning, while technology functions as a supporting tool.
ONE CLICK, One Gateway to Diverse Learning Resources
The implementation of ONE CLICK begins with identifying student learning needs. After setting learning objectives, the teacher develops media with the help of AI, performs reviews and refinements, and then integrates them into the class website.
The website serves as a central access point for various learning resources, ranging from reading materials, instructional videos, and quizzes to educational games, simulations, and digital worksheets.
Through a single page, students can explore various learning activities without having to search for materials across many different platforms.
The ONE CLICK digital learning space can be accessed via:
One example of the media developed is the Interactive Nutritious Food Flip Card for 5th Grade Students, which can be viewed at:
The use of a class website also provides students with the opportunity to review materials after the learning activities are completed.
If there are explanations that are not yet understood, students can access learning materials, repeat exercises, or explore the content independently as long as devices and internet connections are available.
With this approach, technology does not just function as a storage space for materials, but also as a means to encourage active student participation in the learning process.
Technology Oriented Toward Student Needs
In developing ONE CLICK, I realized that the success of educational innovation cannot be measured by the number of applications or the sophistication of the technology used.
The most important thing is the extent to which that technology truly helps students understand the material and develop their literacy skills.
Learning media that look attractive are not necessarily beneficial if they do not meet student needs. Therefore, the selection of teaching materials must consider the reading ability, age, level of understanding, and the life environment of the students.
The use of AI must also be accompanied by responsibility. The information generated needs to be verified, the use of images and learning materials must respect copyright, and the security and privacy of student data must be protected.
Furthermore, not all students have equal access to digital devices and internet networks.
This condition is an important consideration so that ONE CLICK does not inadvertently create a learning gap. Teachers still need to provide alternative teaching materials that can be used offline for students who have limited access.
Thus, the use of technology remains grounded in the principle that every child has the right to equal learning opportunities.
Building a Sustainable Literacy Culture
ONE CLICK is an initial step that still requires ongoing development and evaluation.
Its success cannot be measured solely by the existence of a website or the number of learning media created. Its impact must be seen from student engagement, the ease with which they access materials, and the development of their literacy skills after participating in the learning.
Evaluation can be conducted through assessment results, observations during learning, student questionnaires, or comparisons of learning achievements over a certain period.
The results of this evaluation then become the basis for improving materials, refining activities, and adjusting learning strategies to meet student needs.
For teachers, ONE CLICK can be a space to continue creating and developing digital competencies. For students, this innovation opens opportunities to gain learning experiences that are more varied, flexible, and interactive.
I believe that change in education does not always have to start with large programs or expensive technology.
Sometimes, change begins with a teacher's courage to identify problems in the classroom, try new approaches, evaluate the results, and then improve them gradually.
ONE CLICK is not merely an innovation about AI and websites. More than that, this innovation is an effort to present learning that is closer to student needs while making technology a part of the educational solution.
The hope is that literacy activities do not stop when the school bell rings. With teacher guidance, the right learning resources, and the opportunity to keep practicing, students can develop their literacy skills anytime and anywhere.
Because, one click is not the end of the learning process, but the beginning of opening opportunities to read, understand, explore, and continue learning.
