Malang, JurnalPost.com – Wilda Lailatul Afifah, a student participating in the Educational Field Experience (PPLK) program at the University of Islamic Malang (UNISMA), held an Anti-Bullying Workshop at MI Al Marhamah in Gunung Kunci, Jabung District, Malang Regency, on Saturday (26/9/2026).
The event, which ran from 08.00 to 10.00 WIB, was attended by approximately 100 students from MI Al Marhamah. The workshop was organized to provide early education to students regarding bullying, a behavior still frequently encountered in daily school interactions.
The initiative received full support from the school principal and teachers at MI Al Marhamah. The principal, Fatkhul Zainudin, emphasized that the workshop is essential for helping students understand behavioral boundaries when interacting with their peers.
“This Anti-Bullying Workshop is very important for the students at MI Al Marhamah because we still encounter many instances of bullying among students in the field,” said Fatkhul Zainudin.
Introducing the Forms and Impacts of Bullying
The first session was led by Farel Putra Andriyoso from the Faculty of Islamic Studies at the University of Islamic Malang. He covered various aspects of bullying, including definitions, different forms of harassment, the resulting impacts, prevention strategies, and the distinction between bullying and joking.
The material was presented using a simple and interactive approach to ensure it was easily understood by primary school students.
The students were encouraged to understand that joking should never be an excuse to hurt others, whether through words or actions. They were also taught the importance of being mindful of their speech and respecting their peers' feelings.
Farel expressed his pleasure in being directly involved in the activity and interacting with the students.
“It was really fun to chat, joke, and learn together with the kids about the importance of watching our words, respecting feelings, and not using differences as an excuse to hurt others,” Farel said.

Learning to Build Healthy Friendships
The next session was presented by M. Burhanudin from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the University of Islamic Malang.
During this session, Burhanudin discussed the importance of building healthy friendships. Students were encouraged to understand how to show mutual respect, help friends, watch their language, and treat others kindly in their daily lives.
In addition to discussing friendships, students were encouraged to recognize that everyone has differences that must be respected.
The material was not presented as a one-way lecture; the presenters actively involved the students in discussion and Q&A sessions.
The participants' enthusiasm was evident as students vied to answer questions. On several occasions, the students even answered in unison when the presenters addressed the entire group.
This atmosphere made the activity more active and communicative. Students did not just listen to the material but were given space to express their opinions and respond to various situational examples provided by the presenters.
Promoting a Safe School Environment
Through this Anti-Bullying Workshop, students are expected to recognize various forms of bullying and understand the impact it has on others.
Early education at the primary school level is considered vital so that students become increasingly aware that mocking, belittling, excluding, or hurting friends cannot be considered normal behavior.
Beyond preventing bullying, the activity also encouraged students to build more positive friendships by prioritizing mutual respect, mindful communication, helping others, and honoring differences.
This workshop serves as a contribution from UNISMA PPLK students toward creating a safer, more comfortable, and conducive educational environment for the students of MI Al Marhamah.
